Construction of a new RV park is set to start soon on open land off Jacksboro Highway in Wichita Falls.
A partner in the project, Brad K. Rodgers, said construction will be completed in six to eight months on Falls Ranch RV Resort, depending on the weather.
It’s located near the intersection of Jacksboro Highway and Rathgeber Road.
Estimated cost of the project is $3.5 million, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
According to the agency, the park will have 176 RV spots.
Rodgers said one reason for the project is anticipation of an influx of temporary workers for construction projects in the area, such as data centers.

“There are already a lot of temporary workers is town for solar farms and the new state hospital,” Rodgers said.
He said workers from construction projects in the Oklaunion area are also staying in Wichita Falls.
He said in addition to housing temporary workers, his company has long term plans.
Rodgers thinks more people are permanently living in recreational vehicles, some choosing to do so because of high costs for housing, taxes and insurance.
“There are a lot of retired people who choose to live that way and some have to live that way,” he said. “We want to stay around Wichita Falls.”
The park’s Facebook page said along with the RV pad sites, the facility will have “12 tiny cabins, and tent camping sites in addition to free Wi-Fi, dog park, fishing pond, sports bar and grill, laundry, workout area and more.”
Rodger said the Wichita Falls City Council approved rezoning and granted a conditional use permit for the project.
On Tuesday the Wichita Falls City Council approved a zoning change to accommodate another new RV park at Huntington Lane and Northwest Freeway in the north part of town.
